Unit 9 Classes
Invest in yourself; make time for a Unit 9 Class that will help you to explore and develop your own style, method of working, learn a variety of techniques and use various products. Below is listed our exciting Winter & Spring 2008 programme of Classes
The classes are suitable for all levels – beginners, intermediate and advanced.
Tuesday & Saturday classes will begin with coffee at 9.30am for a 10.00am start; lunch break 12.30 – 1.30pm and a 3.00pm finish.
Wednesday Morning will begin at 10.00am & finish at 12pm
Thursday Evening will begin at 5.30pm & finish at 7.30pm .

Tuesday 29th January SOFTSCULPT PANEL(2908) £25
Come along to experiment with Softsculpt to make a panel. Your panel pieces will be coloured with paints & embellished with a range of Stewart Gill embellishing products.
Monday 4th February “SURPRISE” with James Hunting (4208) £35 + £5.00 materials charge – James brings ALL the fabrics and threads!!!!
In life we all need a surprise, especially on a Monday in early February, so how about coming along to a workshop with James? All you need to know, is it will involve hand stitching, a “surprise” element, guidance, chat & cake!! This workshop only requires that you walk out of the house with a curious mind, needles & fabric scissors.
James was the Embroiderers Guild Scholar 2006/7, he recycles fabrics & takes great joy in looking, making & sharing and the construction, colour of fabrics & threads. Create some stunning effects using Gels, Textile Paints & Pearl-Ex Powders on fabric ready to transform a washing tablet box into a container!
Wednesday 6th February EXPERIMENTAL TEXTILES II (6208) £48
Experimental textiles II is a 6 week course split into 2 hour sessions per week.
Create a collage out of papers and fabrics that you have coloured and textured, forming an image or impression by cutting, tearing, layering, colouring and printing. The final collage can be a design in its own right or further embellished with stitch.
The first three weeks are tutor lead and the last three weeks are student lead with tutor support.

Thursday 7th February EXPERIMENTAL TEXTILES II (7208) £48

Come & experiment with this exciting new fabric, you will be using paints & dyes for colour & pattern ready for stitching.

Colour & print a length of fabric so that you can turn it into a box, bag, book etc.
Saturday 29th March BOXES with SUE TALBOT (29308) £25 + Additional materials charge.
In this class you will learn how to make a gift box for wine or stationery using bought fabric or it could be a fabric you have created.
A pre-cut MDF box kit, wadding, metal corners and glue will be provided by the tutor therefore there will be an additional £10 material charge, payable to the tutor on the day.

Information
The fee includes tuition, specialist materials, equipment, unlimited tea & coffee.
For all Unit 9 workshops & classes students must bring:
A4 Sketchbook (although we do have some for sale)
Pencil case - selection of pencils, coloured pencils, pens for mark making in your sketchbook
Fabrics or papers that you’d like to experiment with; basic fabrics & papers will be provided.
Apron & Disposable Gloves
Packed lunch or Bizzy Lizzies Café on site
