Cotton muslin painted with Black Gesso covered with crumpled clingfilm, allowed to dry (takes weeks!). Painted with another layer of Black Gesso, and when dry, rubbed with iridescent Markals to create an antique finish. The applied motif was created in a similar way except the base fabric was silk and the clingfilm was removed. | |||

MOLDING PASTE FABRIC Isobel Hall, the international tutor and author is also giving an inspiring workshop turning light molding paste in a fabric!!!!!! and this will take place on Thursday 30th September and Friday 1st October.
PRINTING FABRICS & PAPERS If you enjoy printing with dyes and paints come along on Tuesday 26th October and 2nd November to learn some printing techniques using unusual fabrics and products as screens and designs, this workshop is with the "Ario girls".

Festival of Quilts 19th - 22nd August at the NEC
READY, STEADY, GO! - all is tidy and in its place at 9:59am on Thursday 19th We have just about recovered after the show which as usual was inspiring, exciting and busy with lots of visitors from around the world.
Now it is on to preparing for the Knitting & Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace from 7th - 10th October - we will be on our usual stand in the Textile Gallery Visit twistedthread.com for a taster of the exhibits and artists We have some new products available - Inktense Pencils, Graphitint, Tracedown reusable tracing sheets, Colourwash Sprays, Cosmic Shimmer Mist, some new fabrics, etc. Stewart Gill are bringing out some new Stencils based on the tapacloth & tribal imagery of the South Pacific and they will be available from mid September so keep a look out for them. They are called PASIFIKA and there are 6 designs all of which can be registered, overlaid and reversed to create stunning and unique patterns.
