Sketchbooks are  usually difficult to start - all that blank paper. You are fizzing with ideas but something seems to come unstuck between the brain and the paper - a sketchbook techniques workshop will help you un-lock all those ideas.

Workshop 7

Mono- Printing

Quickly create "one-off" designs and images for fabrics and papers using textile paints. Monoprinting is a very loose style of creating printed images. The paint can be applied with a brush, roller, etc., onto a non-porus surface such as glass, plastic, etc. The paint is manipulated and the paper or fabric placed over the design, and using the heel of the hand to apply pressure, the paint is transferred from the surafce, the paper or fabric peeled away and allowed to dry.

Workshop 8

Jolly Good Slosh

Create papers using a variety of techniques e.g. bleaching, resist effects, crumpling. You will use different weight papers including brown parcel paper - which is just the best!!!! The resulting coloured and textured papers can be stitched, use in collages, for card making and books and lots more.

Workshop 9

Markals

Learn how easy it is to use Markal Paintstiks. Create images, patterns and resists on fabric, Fibretex, paper, card, etc. Designs can be over-painted with transparent paints such as Brusho, silk paints, Dye-na-Flow, inks, etc.

Textures

Create stunning effects on paper, card and fabric using Gels, Gesso, PVA. The Gels, etc can be used "au naturel", can be coloured with textile paints, inks, etc., have lustre powders and sparkle added, be washed over with more colour, stitched, layered with more gel, etc to create loads of colour and texture.

Workshop 11
